The Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) and Intensive Care Medicine National Recruitment Office (ICMNRO) have kindly produced some recruitment guidance for applicants. This information is available for download in the 'download' section of the website. There is guidance available on the following areas:

  • Equivalence Guidance for Core programmes - this outlines what options there are for trainees who have not followed through one of the traditional core training programmes
  • Preparing your portfolio - this provides guidance on how to prepare your portfolio should you be successful in securing an interview
  • Assessment Matrix - this provides guidance on the key behavioural indicators that are assessed in each component of the interview process
  • Reflective Practice - there is an example of good reflective practice and an example of bad reflective practice. Reflective Practice forms one of the interview stations.
